Russian invasion of Ukraine a key topic.
President Biden met with the leaders of Japan, Australia, and India for a second in-person summit of the Indo-Pacific Quad countries. While a number of important issues were discussed including climate change, trade, supply chains, and the pandemic, a key focus was the Russian forces’ invasion of Ukraine.
“This is more than just a European issue,” President Biden said. “It’s a global issue.” He added, “What Russia’s doing now, it appears to me that Putin is trying to extinguish a culture. As long as Russia continues this war, we are going to be partners and lead a global response.”
Japan’s prime minister agreed, saying, “We cannot let the same thing happen in the Indo-Pacific region.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the president to seek God’s direction as he interacts with foreign leaders.
- For U.S. military and diplomatic officials as they monitor the activities of China and North Korea.
- For President Biden to have wisdom as he works to strengthen the U.S. relationships with Indo-Pacific nations.
